4. What is VCB Online Bill Pay?
VCB Online Bill Pay lets you pay your bills online through Virginia Commerce Bank. You can pay anyone in the United States that you would normally pay by check or automatic debit, even if you do not receive bills from the company or person you want to pay. With Online Bill Pay, you can:
- Pay all of your bills at the Payment Center. You can also see a summary of your pending payments and the payments you've made in the past 45 days.
- Receive some of your bills online in VCB Online Bill Pay. You can view and pay these bills at the Payment Center.
- Set up automatic payments to pay your electronic bills or to automatically schedule payments of a set amount at regular intervals.
- Review your bills and payments for the past six months. You can also export your payment information to a Quicken® Interchange Format (QIF) file.
5. How does VCB Online Bill Pay work?
To get started, you need to access your checking account via VCB Online Banking. Then click on the "Pay Bills" tab.
To start paying your bills online, simply add the companies and people you want to pay. We use this information to make the payments for your bills. Then enter a payment amount and the date when you want the company or person to receive your payment. You can also select this date from the calendar. After you add your bills, you can go to the Payment Center. The Pay Bills section lists all of the bills you've added in VCB Online Bill Pay.
Tip #1: When you enter an amount, VCB Online Bill Pay automatically displays the earliest date you can select for the company or person to receive the payment in the Pay Date box. You can either accept this date or change it to a later one. You can pay as many bills as you want at the same time from the Payment Center.
After you pay a bill, it may move to either the Pending Payments section or the Recent Payments section of the Payment Center.
- The Pending Payments section provides a quick summary of the payments that have not been processed yet.
- The Recent Payments section provides a list of the bills that have been paid in the past 45 days.
You can also find a list of the pending and recent payments for a particular biller in the Payment Assistant.
If you can't find a payment in the Recent Payments section, go to Bill History, which shows all of the bills you paid in the past six months, including electronic bills and the bills that you pay automatically.
Tip #2: You can set up bills in advance in Online Bill Pay. This feature is a big help when you’re going away on vacation and a welcome convenience if you’d like a bill payment to coincide with your direct deposit.
6. What is the Online Bill Pay service guarantee?
You no longer have to say, “The check’s in the mail.” Through Online Bill Pay, you get a confirmation number and peace of mind with each bill payment. Due to uncontrollable circumstances, particularly delays in handling and posting payments by billers or financial institutions, some transactions may take longer to be credited to your account. Our Online Bill Pay Service will bear responsibility for any late payment related charges up to $50.00 should a payment post after its due date as long as the payment was scheduled according to the guidelines described under "Payment Scheduling” in your Online Bill Pay Terms and Conditions.
